Environmental site assessments (ESAs) are routinely used to determine the environmental condition of a property. Specifically, the objectives of an ESA are to:
- Determine if there is reason to suspect that contamination has occurred.
- Identify the nature of contaminants.
- Define the distribution of contamination in the environment, including air, water and soil.
- Determine the risk from the exposure to these contaminants.
- Evaluate the possibility of mitigating these risks.
Phase I Environmental Site Assessment
21st CECINC has performed Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) for a broad range of clients throughout Western Canada-from simple vacant properties to complex mergers of industrial facilities, 21st CECINC can assist you with the assessment process.
Our ESAs are performed in accordance with the Canadian Standard Association (CSA) Z768-01 Environmental Site Assessment and the Alberta Environmental Site Assessment Standards. Typical turnaround time for our Phase I ESA is 8 to 10 working days at no extra charge.
Phase II Site Investigation
21st CECINC has extensive experience with both limited and comprehensive Phase II Investigations. Experienced environmental scientists perform these projects, and Phase II reports are reviewed by senior staff many of which have substantial
To avoid conflict of interest, 21st CECINC subcontracts the drilling of soil borings and monitoring wells to licensed professionals and often small businesses -owned, drillers. Sampling is conducted according to strict adherence to applicable standards and even more stringent internal standard operating procedures. Independent environmental analytical laboratories are used to analyze samples.
Wellsites and Small Upstream Petroleum Facilities Site Assessment
This Phase 1 ESA will be used as a screening tool to: provide evidence to satisfy the regulators, surface landowner(s) and stakeholders that contamination is not likely present on the property; and/or to determine if a Phase 2 ESA is required.
